Library Media Center Goals

The goals of the Montgomery Creek School Library Media Center are that all students will learn to:

1. Recognize their information needs,

2. Locate information and evaluate the quality of the information,

3. Store and retrieve information,

4. Make effective and ethical use of information,

5. Apply information to create and communicate knowledge.

Library Rules

1. Take Care of Yourself. Listen carefully and follow directions.

2. Take Care of Others. Work quietly. Do not disturb others who are working. Respect others. Be kind with your words and actions.Work safely. Cooperate and share.

3.Take Care of this Place. Respect school and personal property.

4. Loan Period. Students in grades 2 - 8 may check out up to three books at a time for two weeks. Students in Grade 1 may check out up to two books for two weeks. Kindergarten students may check out 1 book for up to two weeks.

If a student has an overdue book, s/he may not check out additional books until the overdue book is either renewed, returned, or paid for if lost or damaged beyond repair.

5. Renewal. Student may renew books for another two weeks if the book is shown to the Librarian and is not on hold for another student.

6. Book Fines. There are no overdue book fees, but if a book is lost or stolen or damaged beyond repair the student must pay for the book and may not check out additional books until the lost, stolen, or damaged book is paid for.
